It has been over a year since I had the opportunity to interview my good friend Pierre Fitch. A lot has happened in that period of time. The sexy porn star from Montreal has branched out. His first love has always been music. It’s in his blood. So it came as no surprise when he decided to go into the DJ business. Almost immediately he began receiving requests to perform all over the world. Requests have come in from Berlin, Bern, Orlando, Mexico, and the list goes on. Although his name as a world famous porn star brings him the attention, Pierre wants to be recognized for him talents and a DJ. And believe me, the boy is talented. I’ve spent many hours with him listening to him practice. Every time I hear him I’m blown away. With his boyfriend, Julien Cox by his side Pierre has proven his skills in blending beats and spinning hit after hit. For a sample of DJ Pierre Fitch spinning and updates about his upcoming events visit www.djpierrefitch.com. You can also follow Pierre on Twitter at www.twitter.com/pierrefitch.
MATT: Hey buddy! How’s it going?
PIERRE: Hey Matt!
MATT: Pierre, when did you decide to become a DJ?
PIERRE: Oh, well, since I’ve been going out to clubs.
MATT: But when did you really become serious about it?
PIERRE: Oh, Maybe like about six months ago there. That was the serious time. It’s my tenth year anniversary in the porn business and I have a big name, so I might as well use my name to make myself bigger in the DJ business. It’s perfect in the gay world for me I think.
MATT: You built you’re own club in your basement, the Bad Boys Den.
PIERRE: Yeah, I spend a lot of time down there practicing.

MATT: When you performed for the very first time, what was that like for you?
PIERRE: It was stressful, but I managed to do it.
MATT: It was stressful?
PIERRE: It was very stressful. It was a lot of stress but I had a private party the night before to make sure I was used to the equipment they have there.
MATT: What was stressful about it? Was it the large crowd?
PIERRE: It wasn’t the crowd. It was all the equipment they have in there. They had sort of older equipment and I didn’t know much about it. It was older and it was a bit harder to use their equipment, but I got used to it. I made a few mistakes but it didn’t matter. I still managed. Next time I’m going to bring my own Pioneer things.
MATT: When you are performing what are your sets like?
PIERRE: I play house music, progressive house, tribal, some electro but not much. It’s mostly stuff gay people would like. You wouldn’t really go into a straight club and start playing house or tribal music. It’s not really their style.
MATT: You’re getting invitations from all over the world now.
PIERRE: Holy fuck, from Switzerland, Germany, all over. I’ve been asked to DJ for several events for the NO H8 campaign.
MATT: In your club, the Bad Boys Den, you have the latest equipment out there.
PIERRE: Yeah, Pioneer CD and MP3 and the Pioneer DJM 8oo mixer, and I have all the other gadgets like the effects 500’s, a midi keyboard, Albeton 7, well, you know, I have it all. I have a recorder for recording my sets.

MATT: Tell us about your site, www.djpierrefitch.com.
PIERRE: I have my own DJ site designed by a great guy. I do live shows on there occasionally, usually late at night. It brings me business. It brought me some business in Kingston (Ontario). So when I do that I post it on my Facebook and when people come and see it and like my style of music they send me an email.
MATT: Do you have any plans on recording and releasing a CD in the future?
PIERRE: Yes, but I’m going to give myself at least a year before I do that. That’s a lot of work in producing and I want to make sure I master my skills as a DJ before I even start thinking about producing. But yes, producing is my big plan. When you start producing it’s your own stuff. It’s exclusive and you get paid a lot more. My boyfriend, Julien will be shopping with all my money like Gabrielle on Desperate Housewives. Perfect couple, couldn’t get better than that.
MATT: Right now you’re doing a monthly gig at Goodhandy’s in Toronto. That not only involves you DJ’ing but also doing a live shows too.
PIERRE: Yes, it’s called Tabernac. It’s my own event. I own the event and I’m really grateful for that because Mandy [Goodhandy] was on a mission to find someone to make an event for that Saturday and she chose me because she liked my performance from the event that I had during gay pride during the summer. So she called me back and asked me to be a DJ. I love it. And now I’m trying to get another regular event in Kingston, and that event is called Sex 101. So everything is combined with sex and DJ’ing. But not every club is going to be like that, but the one’s that I’m at right now for sure.

MATT: Even though you are using your name to get out there you want people to understand that you are serious about being a DJ.
PIERRE: Oh yes. At Goodhandy’s people came out to see me. I could have been the shittiest DJ in the world. But I love music. I can’t get enough of it. I’m serious about being a great DJ.
MATT: Growing up what kind of music did you listen to?
PIERRE: Rap. Rap and heavy metal.
MATT: That explains the DMX CD you have in your DVD rack.
PIERRE: I used to play in a heavy metal, punk band but I quit because I didn’t want to paint my nails black and dress all in black. We used to play in bars and stuff and I really didn’t fit in.
MATT: When did you really get into the dance music?
PIERRE: When I started going to clubs.
MATT: At some point do you plan on transitioning out of porn and just being a DJ?
PIERRE: No, I will always do porn. I may not always be in the porn movies but I’ll shoot porn.

MATT: What is your ultimate goal with becoming a DJ?
PIERRE: My ultimate goal is to become a big, top DJ. I’m not going to be on planes seven days a week. DJ’s like that, that’s all they do, but for me once a week is good enough. I have animals and my boyfriend. He won’t be able to make it to all my events but most of them.
JULIEN: Oh no, Matt’s going to see how dirty we are, hahaha.
PIERRE: Well, Matt, you’re going to be my camera man and take care of it so no one spills alcohol on it like my last one. But after you’ve had ten or fifteen drinks I’m taking it away from you.
MATT: Don’t worry. I’m not going to drink too much. I’m trying to cut back on my drinking.
PIERRE: You’re going to drink. A lot of the drinks are going to be on me, so you’ll drink.
MATT: OK then, in that case I’ll drink.
PIERRE: HAHAHAHA!
MATT: Julien, does Pierre where the DJ Pierre Fitch necklace I sent for his birthday?
JULIEN: Yes, he wears it every time we leave the house.
PIERRE: I wear it all the time. I kiss it for luck before I DJ. I give it a good luck kiss.

MATT: This is the hardest interview I’ve ever done.
PIERRE: That’s because you know everything about me already.
MATT: OK,who are your biggest influences?
PIERRE: Julien’s cock, hahaha! Uh, Matt, you went silent for a moment.
MATT: Did you just say Julien’s cock?
PIERRE: Absolutely!… My biggest DJ influences are the whole Star 69 label. Just go to my DJ site and look at my top five list. They are the ones that inspired me.
MATT: Is there anything you do before each set to get yourself psyched up?
PIERRE: Suck a cock and have about five Grey Goose Vodkas. That gets me going, Grey Goose Vodka and a big cock. Wouldn’t that get anyone going? Well, what gay DJ wouldn’t want that. Sucking a cock and having a few drinks right before DJ’ing, he’s the happiest man in the world!
MATT: How do you pick your set list?
PIERRE: I just choose whatever song I think fits in perfectly and then just blow them away. I have my set list prepared before I leave home but I also have some extra stuff that I throw in during the night. When the crowd is dancing I’m dancing away and sipping down the Grey Goose and cranberry.
MATT: So, when I come up next week what can I look forward to seeing?
PIERRE: Drunken sluttiness, HAHAHA… Great music and lots of hot guys dancing around the club.

MATT: So, you’re going to start taking some of your own equipment with you?
PIERRE: Yes, why do I want to use some of that outdated equipment that’s been out since the 90’s? I’m up with today’s technology and in today’s day, 2009, I like to stay up to date with things. Older CD players go out of beat and you have to constantly keep it in beat. With today’s CD players they stay in beat when you put them in beat.
MATT: Well, I can’t wait to see you guys next week. It should be a lot of fun.
PIERRE: Oh yeah. It’s going to be a lot of fun. You’re going to love it Matt. You’ve seen me DJ at home but you’ve never seen me in a club.
MATT: Great! I can’t wait. Thanks again for the interview.
PIERRE: You’re welcome. I’ll talk to you later. Me and Julien are off to the gym.
MATT: OK, guys, have a great night.
